Hanna Milhench Rum Cake Milhench Janitorial SupplyMilhench Supply has been in business for over 85 years.  During three generations of doing business, several traditions have emerged and flourished, including our Oktoberfest, family togetherness, and rum cakes.

Milhench Supply Company has celebrated their anniversary every 5 years with a traditional Oktoberfest on their front lawn.  The event includes a vendor trade show, a chip and putt contest, and potato pancakes handmade by none other than Hanna Milhench, the mother of the current business leadership.   In 2017, Hanna worked alongside daughter Loren (who services Milhench clients on the Cape and Islands) to make Kartoffelpuffer (traditional crispy potato pancakes) for attendees of the event which celebrated our 85th year in business.

Hanna is adored by all who her know her and she is particularly respected as a parent.  In many instances, it is a challenge in itself to get adult siblings to sit down through a holiday meal.  It is a credit to Hanna that three of her children work together daily in the family business and they all have a loving healthy admiration for one another, both at work and within the community.

Another tradition began twenty years ago by Hanna, born and raised in Germany, She began making traditional German Rum Cakes (“Rum Kuchen”) using her centuries-old family recipe.   Arthur would then indulge himself and sometimes even share Hanna’s cakes throughout Christmas.
